New Orleans Homicide Detectives are investigating the fatal Saturday morning shooting of an unidentified man and the injuring of two others.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., at the intersection of North Rampart and Touro Street. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Witnesses say a silver or grey Ford F150 Pickup Truck with possibly a green 'no insurance' sticker in the rear window drove up and the passenger opened fire on the victims.
One of the three male victims was pronounced dead on the scene while the two surviving victims were driven to the hospital by private conveyance. The condition of the two surviving victims appear to be non-life threatening. A handgun was recovered on the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
