Sheriff: Larose man had sex with livestock, charged

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre says they've arrested a Larose man for engaging in "carnal copulation" with livestock.
Mario Vasconcelos, 34, "was arrested after detectives collected DNA evidence linking him to the crime." That's according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
"In June, a Cut Off resident reported someone was possibly trespassing on his property located on Highway 3235," Deputy Brennan Matherne said. "Through investigation, detectives learned a male subject had entered the building and engaged in crimes against nature (unnatural carnal copulation) with livestock, including a donkey and a goat... Detectives collected suspected human DNA evidence from the livestock, and the evidence was submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for DNA analysis."
He says it matched Vasconcelos, and they then learned that Vasconcelos had a warrant for contempt of court stemming from a 2011 domestic abuse case.
Matherne says, "During questioning, Vasconcelos admitted to four instances of copulating with livestock and he was subsequently transported to the Detention Center where he was booked four counts of Crimes Against Nature, simple burglary and per the outstanding warrant. He is currently being held in lieu of $37,500 bond."
