Arrests in decade-old Tangi murder case

Tangipahoa police say they have arrested two suspects in a murder that happened ten years ago.

According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, Karen Birch of Tickfaw, LA and David Morris of Baton Rouge were both arrested yesterday and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

In March of 2003, police located the body of Debbie Ann Lindsey in a wooded area near her Amite residence.  Sheriff Edwards says Lindsey’s body was badly decomposed, but autopsy results showed she had been stabbed multiple times.

Police describe the two suspects as friends of the victim who have always been persons of interest in this case.   Investigators say after re-interviewing other friends and relatives, “several new witnesses came forward and provided statements connecting the two suspects to the case.”
