With a lot of sexual innuendos, in the name of charity, the Red Dress Run hits New Orleans.
The pre-run festivities included the Red Negligee Run Friday night downtown.
The annual Red Dress Run and adult-only party is Saturday at Armstrong Park. The charitable event, totally organized by volunteers, has raised a half a million dollars in just the last 3 years and that's been donated to over 1,000 local charities. Organizers say the max for any charity is capped at $5,000.
Organizer Trent Strasburg says this year Cowboy Mouth and Dash Rip Rock will be playing for the expected 6,000 men and women adorned in red dresses, or less.
This year there won't be a pub crawl following the party, which Strasburg says ends at 5:00.
The actual run is at 11, but the party starts earlier at Armstrong Park. The Red Dress Run was originally started by the world's largest running organization, who describe themselves as "A beer drinking group with a running problem."
This has become the largest Red Dress run globally, originally started in 1988.
