St. John investigating 11th homicide of 2013

For the eleventh time this year, St. John the Parish sheriff's investigators are working to solve a homicide.  A man was found shot dead inside a closet of his home in LaPlace early this morning.

Sheriff Mike Tregre says it appears someone deliberately targets 33-year-old Johnathan Toussain of Ellerslie Road in LaPlace.

"Either someone was in the home already, or someone walked in behind him," Sheriff Tregre said.

Sheriff Mike Tregre:

With eleven homicides so far this year, Tregre says he is concerned.

"We're solving a number of the homicides that have taken place, but yes, I am concerned," he told WWL First News.  "There's no obvious indicator that this will stop."

Anyone with information is asked to Crimestoppers the St. John Sheriff's office at (985) 359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
