Heavy showers could cause flooding in and around New Orleans.
"We are going to see numerous showers and storms... today, tomorrow, Sunday and maybe even into early next week," WWL TV Meteorologist Laura Buchtel said. "A flash flood watch has been issued for Southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi."
She says with tropical moisture streaming in from the Gulf, there is a real threat of water filling low lying areas and places with poor drainage.
"We could see some street flooding with these heavier downpours," Buchtel warned. "Very wet atmosphere, very moisture-laden atmosphere."
