French Quarter purse snatcher

New Orleans cops are asking for help catching a purse snatcher in the French Quarter.

"On Saturday, June 29, 2013, at or about 12:00am, the victims were walking back to their hotel," according to an NOPD news release.

It says they stopped to "ask a male for directions to their hotel."

Detectives say that's when the man offered to walk with them to their hotel.

"While walking, the victim stumbled at Toulouse and Dauphine Streets at which the man took her purse and fled," according to the release.

Investigators worked with the victims to create the above computer sketch.

"The perpetrator is described as a white male, approximately 30 -40 years of age wearing a bluish green hat, a bluish green t-shirt with a logo on the front and back and blue jeans," the release said.
