Kenner man booked in April fatality

Police in Kenner say toxicology test results led to the arrest of a 56-year-old man involved in a fatal accident last month.

The Michael Norris was booked Wednesday with vehicular homicide, vehicle negligent injuring and other charges in connection with the April 15 accident. A Kenner police news release says the Norris had been driving a pickup truck on Airline Drive in Kenner when he turned into the path of an oncoming Chrysler.

Among those hurt was 73-year-old Laura Armstrong of St. Rose, who died three days later.

Test results indicated the presence of drugs, including hydrocodone, and the active ingredient in marijuana in the blood of the pickup driver. Norris, of Kenner, was still in custody Wednesday evening, awaiting the setting of bond.
