Omaha will miss LSU fans

When the LSU Tigers lost in the College World Series, Omaha lost some of its most enthusiastic participants -- the Tiger fans.

From the tailgating to the game attendance -- even if it's not the Tigers on the field at the time -- Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert says Tiger fans can be hard to beat.

"When they're back in Omaha, you can feel it," she told WWL First News.  Unfortunately, this time around, the Tiger team proved too easy to beat.

Even though a few Tiger baseball fans keep going to the games even if the Purple & Gold aren't in it, many of the Tiger fans are now getting ready to leave town.

Stothert says LSU always seems to bring something special to Omaha.  The proof, she said, is in the last time the Tigers WON the CWS -- in 2009.

"That was an all time series attendance record that was set in that year," she said.
