TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha was packed with folks wearing a wide variety of colors and jerseys. In fact, Kristian Garic and I guesstimated that about 7,000 LSU faithful were in the crowd of 24,000 who watched the Tigers' first game of the CWS.
"They're goin to come back, no problem at all. They're fighters," one man wearing Purple and Gold told me. "Tough loss, tough loss...Should have been a 1-0 win for the Tigers...We've got to just start hitting the ball.
Another young fan offered some advice: "It was unfortunate to make those two errors," he told me. "If it were up to me, we'd pitch Cody Glenn."
While many LSU fans will head back to Louisiana after the first weekend of play, others told us they were going to stay in Omaha until the bitter (or sweet) end.
"We still believe," one group of fans told me. "As long as the Tigers are here, we'll be here...we'll stay two weeks, we stayed two weeks in '09
