DT Jenkins signs with Saints, all 5 draft picks now signed

The New Orleans Saints have signed rookie defensive tackle John Jenkins to a 4-year contract.

With the inking of Jenkins' deal, the team has now locked up deals with all five draft picks on the even of Rookie Minicamp.

Yesterday, the Saints announced they had signed four of their five draft picks, including first-round pick Kenny Vaccaro, third round pick Terron Armstead, and their fifth and sixth-round draft picks respectively in WR Kenny Stills and LB Rufus Johnson.

More on Jenkins from neworleanssaints.com:

Jenkins, 23, was selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 82nd overall pick out of the University of Georgia. The 6-foot-3, 359-pound native of Meriden, Conn. played nose guard for two seasons in Athens after transferring from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, starting 20-of-27 contests and recording 78 tackles (36 solo), four sacks for a loss of 26 yards, eight stops for loss, one interception, a pass defense, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

As a senior in 2012, he started all 13 games in the interior and was the club’s defensive Co-MVP and was named to Phil Steele’s All-Southeastern Conference second-team as he finished with 50 tackles (22 solo), one sack for a loss of nine yards, two stops for a loss, one pass defense and one fumble recovery.
