Rain and more rain

The wet pattern for Southeast Louisiana is not over.

"More rain on the way," forecasts WWL TV Meteorologist Laura Buchtel. "A few of those showers are going to be heavy."

She says a low pressure system has parked over the region.

"That's going to keep those rain chances high," Buchtel explained.

Rain water filled streets in Kenner near Loyola and Veterans around noon today (above).

Isolated downpours could lead to more localized street flooding this afternoon and evening.

More rain is expected Thursday and early in the day on Friday before a cold front starts drying things out  for the weekend.
