Louisiana state police say parents suspected of kidnapping their own children may be in Louisiana.
"The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued an AMBER Alert for two young children after their non-custodial, biological parents abducted them from their custodial grandmother in Tampa, Florida," Lt. Julie Lewis said in a news release. "The biological parents and children may be traveling to or through Louisiana."
She says they are asking for the public's help finding the people pictured above.
"Law enforcement is currently looking for Joshua Michael Hakken and Sharyn Patricia Hakken who may be driving a black 2006 GMC pickup truck bearing Florida tag #U95KT (University of South Florida tag). Their parental rights were recently terminated and they have ties in the Slidell, LA area," Lewis said.
Cops say you should not approach the parents if you see them.
"These subjects may be armed and should be considered dangerous. Citizens should not attempt to approach these individuals, but to contact 911 or local law enforcement immediately. If you have any information on the whereabouts of these children please contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department at 813-247-8200," according to Lewis.
