The shocking video shown in federal court today showed a loaded handgun, drugs, and alcohol inside a locked cell at Orleans Parish Prison.
The video was shown turning testimony during a lawsuit brought by the Southern Poverty Law Center over conditions at the troubled jail facility.
In the video, inmates can be seen pulling cans of beer from a cooler in the cell, and another inmate displays a Glock handgun. The inmate holding the gun unloads three bullets from the gun to prove it's loaded.
The video played in court also showed inmates with cash, pills, and crack cocaine.
