Former Mandeville Mayor Eddie Price to be released from prison
Sources close to former Mandeville Mayor Eddie Price say he will be released from federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan., this Tuesday.
In 2010, U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman handed down a sentence of 64 months in federal prison for Price's guilty plea on tax evasion and mail fraud charges. He made the plea in October, 2009. But his sentence was later reduced.
Price reportedly will spend two to four months in a halfway house in the New Orleans area to serve out the rest of his term.
Price admitted to lying on the witness stand back in January 2008, in the battery case against SpeeDee Oil Change owner Gary Copp. Copp was accused of brutally kicking a woman in the head in a Mandeville Bar.
