NOPD: Missing teacher last seen in City Park

New Orleans Police today say surveillance video from various sources shows missing teacher Terrilyn Monette was alone early in the morning of her disappearance.

NOPD Officer Hilal Williams says the video shows Monette's Honda Accord turning off of Harrison Avenue onto Marconi Drive headed towards the lake, shortly after 5:00 a.m., March 2.

"Based on observations from the surveillance video, we believe Terrilyn was traveling alone in her vehicle," according to Williams.

Williams says detectives reviewed surveillance camera footage from three red light cameras in the area, as from other other local businesses and private residences.

"We know Terrilyn’s car left the bank parking lot at approximately 5:13 A.M., drove eastbound on Harrison Avenue, and then turned left (northbound) on Marconi Drive.  We do know Terrilyn drove into City Park, although her movements after passing Marconi at Harrison are not yet known," Williams said in a news release.

The NOPD says the search firm Equusearch went back to Texas for additional equipment and is expected to return Tuesday to resume the search.

The search for Monette is being aided by federal authorities, the FBI, JPSO, and State Police, according to Williams.

Anyone with information about the missing teacher is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
