The NOPD has arrested a man in connection with the murder of a New Orleans East man whose body was found buried in a remote part of St. Bernard Parish.

Members of the NOPD's 7th District's Task Force arrested 35-year-old Michael Vicknair of St. Bernard late Friday for the murder of 53-year-old Jeffrey Bonck.

Vicknair was charged with second degree murder and obstruction of justice in the beating death.

Bonck's family reported him missing last August.

His remains were uncovered on Tuesday, February 26th, and coroner's tests later identified the body.
