Southeast Louisiana is now represented in both the top ten women and the top ten men on Fox's ''American Idol. ''
Burnell Taylor is from New Orleans and the judges have put him in the top ten men on Idol.
"I really think you are here to stay," Idol Judge Keith Urban told Taylor. "Gosh I liked that performance."
"The best by far tonight." Judge Nicki Minaj added, "I would pay to see you sing."
"Louisiana proud, yeah!" Exclaimed Judge Randy Jackson, also a native of the state.
"This was fantastic," Judge Mariah Carey chimed in.

The judges have been big fans of Taylor ever since he auditioned in Baton Rouge.
"It was so real and authentic," said Carey who cried as Taylor sang.
"All of us were just enamored and in love with you," Jackson noted.

Producers have been playing up Taylor's story of rebounding from losing everything in Katrina and his losing a lot of weight.
Next week America's votes determine if he Taylor stays and if Laplace's Breanna Steer survives after making the top ten women.
