Who let the dogs out? Foul play suspected in missing K9 dogs

Investigators believe foul play was involved in the release of two State Police K9 dogs last night in the Bent Tree area of Marrero.

State Police Spokeswoman Trooper Melissa Matey says it's apparent that someone intentionally released the dogs from the closed kennel in the yard of their handler.

"There's no way for them to have gotten out on their own," Matey says.

She also says a gate on a fence surrounding the yard was forced open.

The dogs, Bruno and Luke, were later found at separate animal shelters.  Both animals were unharmed and were returned to the handler.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the State Police at 504-471-2775.
