A woman in the NFL?

There's some history about to be made in the National Football League as 28 year old Lauren Silberman will become the first woman to tryout out at the regional scouting combine next week.  She played soccer at the University of Wisconsin and is reportedly a strong kicker.

WWL First News sought reaction on the streets of the CBD and found mixed opinions but more supporters than detractors.

A woman felt that Silberman should go for it.

''I think that's wonderful, I don't think she could play any other position but a kicker why not? ''

This woman was in strong support of the effort.

''I think that's awesome, more power to her.''

But another man told us he was not keen on the idea.

'' I don't like it, she doesn't belong in the locker room with the guys.'' While another man worried '' What happens when she's hit by a 250 pound linebacker.''

Still a majority rooted Silberman on and hoped she could be selected by some team and make the cut.
