A front is bringing the threat of heavy rain to Southeast Louisiana

"We have a 70 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms" for the evening, said Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Carl Arredondo. "Some could still be strong or severe.  There is a slight chance for that."

Arredondo said any heavy weather is most likely to happen north of the lake.

Rain will stay in the forecast for the next few days.

"Tomorrow's rain chance will be on the high side, again, for showers and thunderstorms," he said. "Rain chance back up to 70 percent for Friday."
