Front to bring several days of rain

A front is bringing the threat of heavy rain to Southeast Louisiana

"Between about 3:00 and 8:00pm is the probably the best time to see some storms," WWL TV Meteorologist Laura Buchtel forecasts. "If we see some of those stronger storms, I think they will be north of... I-12."

She says while everyone could see rain today, the stronger storms are a bigger threat for the Northshore.

"The more likely area will be... north of Lake Pontchartrain."

Buchtel explains that a cold front is going to bring several days of rain.

"The front is actually going to lay over Louisiana tomorrow, and so we keep rain in the forecast Friday... through Saturday morning," she predicts.

Her forecast calls for the rain to let up for Saturday afternoon and evening, but return again on Sunday.

"Saturday afternoon and evening will be fairly dry, and the same for Sunday morning," Buchtel said.  "We do have showers coming in, but it looks like it will be the second half of Sunday."
