Woman reported missing found a week after Mardi Gras
Dave Cohen Reporting
Police say a woman reported missing after Mardi Gras has been found alive and well.
"Jessica Pratt has been located and is in good health. She went to the 8th District police station and met with police this morning," Officer Hilal Williams said in a news release.
Officer Garry Flot says Pratt did not offer any reason for her not contacting family over the past week.
"She did not give an explanation," Flot told WWL First News. "There was no foul play involved, and she is in good health, and headed back to Iowa along with her brother."
Family and friends came to New Orleans from Iowa to search for the missing mother.
They posted the following to the Facebook page set up to help find Pratt:
ok everyone we know everyone deserves answers and we will release later on tonight please be patient with us.The only reason we haven't released yet is safety reasons we promise details will be released later this evening. this was not a scam, she really was missing, whoever is saying stuff about her having a kid that died your crazy idk where that came from but defiantly is not true, as far as the money that ppl have donated not a penny of it has been touched until now to get the ppl that are in New Orleans home and the rest will be used for her bills, and help pay for the search efforts. she has been missing and obviously has not worked. the money is going to be used toward exactly what we told everyone it would be used for. No one got rich off of this ppl need to stop with the hatful comments, everyone should be happy of the good outcome not negative isn't that what we were all praying for? why is it that the outcome is positive and ppl want to make accusations? like I said we promise we will release details later tonight rite now its about ppls safety please be patient and thank you everyone.
