A judge is preparing to unseal the Crescent City Connection tolls vote recount at some point today.  It may or may not end the fight over the razor thin vote to extend the tolls for 20 years.

After months of rhetoric, the actual vote on the tolls, the lawsuits, hearings and recounts; today's important step will come with little fanfare.

"There's no hearing.  I'm not going to be there.  The other side is not going to be there," Attorney Pat Hand explained.  "It's just the judge, in chambers, opening the sealed envelope."

He says if the recount throws out the tolls, they will stop, but if the tolls extension is upheld his side will keep fighting.

"Then we go to phase two of our lawsuit, which is our argument for nullification," Hand said.

He insists that hundreds of voters who should have been given ballots to vote on the tolls were mistakenly not allowed to vote on the issue and that at least one poll worker was telling voters that their taxes would go up if they didn't vote to keep the taxes.

Supporters of the tolls could also appeal if the tolls are thrown out today.

The judge has not set a specific time to announce the results.
