Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Saints co-owner Rita Benson LeBlanc today announced the 30th Wrestlemania will be held in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in 2014.
"We are in the business of sports entertainment. I don't think there's any city in America that does it better than us," Mayor Landrieu said at the announcement Monday morning at the Superdome.
The reigning WWE champ, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said the premier event of World Wrestling Entertainment is something special.
"Our distinguished guests will come up and they'll speak about the bottom-line impact that we have...economically, but the bottom line is, it's fun," Johnson enthused.
Officials say WrestleMania XXX will draw visitors from around the globe and features a week-long series of events in the city leading up to the big night.
