Hammond Police say they responded to a 911 call in reference to a shooting at 601 Rue Cannes Thursday morning.

HPD dispatchers notified officers that she was on the phone with 30-year-old Robert Lafargue of Hammond, and that he had shot his 67-year-old father, Laurent.

When officers arrived at the address, Robert Lafargue came out of his residence with no resistance and gave himself up to patrol officers.
 
The victim was found in his bedroom.  

Robert Lafargue was arrested and transported to the Hammond Police Department investigation division where he was interviewed and then booked into the Hammond Jail.

Lafargue will be charged with First degree murder and then transported to the Tangipahoa parish prison in Amite, Louisiana.
