Louisiana music rocks new ad campaign

The new 2013 tourism campaign for Louisiana was unveiled today and this year the focus is on music. The new spots include zydeco, rock, country, swamp pop and jazz music from all corners of the state.  Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne likes them.

"We're real, real pleased with these spots, I think they're going to be very popular and they've already gotten good reviews where ever we've tested them.''

Dardenne says the time is right to use home-grown Louisiana music to entice new visitors.  The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Bayou Country Superfest are coming right up.  He says the ads will start right away in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Little Rock, and Memphis.

''And we're expanding into some other areas particularly Atlanta and  Chicago, where we are trying to develop a new market.''

The campaign is a series of TV, radio and print ads touting Louisiana as  "where the music never stops, and most of it started". Another ad says "No America, we will not turn that music down". He says visually, the ads cover the state from border to border and will include food and culture and other things visitors love about Louisiana.
