In search of next million dollar act, TV show stops in New Orleans

NBC's top-rated summer series makes its first-ever stop in New Orleans as part of the biggest talent search in the show's history, wrapping up a 14-city search - the largest in the show's history.

Are you talented enough to win a million dollars?  Now's your chance as auditions start tomorrow for "America's Got Talent" at the Morial Convention Center.

Roz Jordon, the Supervising Casting Producer says you'll have 90 seconds to showcase your special talent as the show stops in New Orleans for a two-day open casting call tomorrow and Saturday.

Why did producers choose the Crescent City?  "It's got such a great vibe, such a great history, such unique talent that you can't find anyplace else," says Jordan.

And that means producers are looking for uniquely New Orleans acts, and every type of performer - musicians, dance crews, magicians, contortionists, comedians, singers, jugglers, animal acts and everything in between.   "I want to see some brass instruments, I want to see some big acts, I want to see magicians, singers, everything and anything, we're looking for it," Jordan says.

"Please bring your A game.  Come looking and dress your best," Jordon says because whatever you wear at the audition you'll wear on the first episode, if you make it past the audition.  "You don't want to say I'm just going to come dressed in sweats and T-shirt because it's just an audition.  'If I make it I'll get a really great sequin, sparkly something.'  You've got to do that right away!"

She says these auditions are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for performers to showcase their talent in 90 seconds in hopes of taking home the coveted $1 million grand prize and a headlining show in Las Vegas.

On this show all age groups are also welcome.
