Crews have closed the southbound Causeway to try and pull a dump truck and it's driver out of the lake.
"The first priority is to try to recover the driver, that is the reason we are closing the bridge."
"The first priority is to try to recover the driver, that is the reason we are closing the bridge."
Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou says it could be two o' clock before they can open the southbound lanes.
"Our best estimate is that the southbound bridge will be closed until at least 1:30."
He says rescue crews from JPSO have located the vehicle, but the cab is crushed and they have to pull the truck out to determine if the driver is still inside.
Officials say the crash took out about 100 feet of aluminum railing, which is decorative. The bridge is still structurally sound and safe to drive, according to General Manager Carlton Dufrechou.
