Happy times for Crawfish lovers

With Mardi Gras just a week away, it looks like Crawfish boils will be a hot item. This year the mud bugs are coming in early and are bigger than usual.

Hundreds of sacks went out the door of Bobby's Seafood in Harahan for the Super Bowl and now they're ready to do it all over again, only on an even larger scale for Mardi Gras. General Manager Ryan Esteves is looking for high demand and he hopes to keep up.

''We're pretty much getting all the crawfish we want and the size looks pretty nice,'' he said.
Most years he says they don't even get enough crawfish to open but not this season and they're going to take full advantage of it.  They are not small like last year either.

''A nice medium to large, some extra large mixed in and not too many small ones in there,'' Esteves said.

He says while prices were a little higher for Super bowl, they are gradually coming down somewhere around $2.50 for live and around $3.50 for boiled.
