Chicken officials: No wing shortage

Super Bowl Sunday is just 3 days away and many people are planning their food spread for the big game.  The chicken industry is trying to allay fears of a wing shortage.

Theresia Lavergne with the Louisiana Poultry Federation says that despite reports all over the Internet claiming there won't be enough wings, they can meet the demand.

"There is not a wing crisis this year," she insisted.

According to the National Chicken Council, Americans are expected to eat more than 1.2 billion chicken wings during Super Bowl weekend.

"There are plenty of wings out there in the supply," Lavergne said.
There have been reports that corn supply issues and the drought would lead to a chicken shortage.
