Get ready for Super Bowl's biggest hype day

Today is Super Bowl XLVII Media Day -- the day members of both teams take part it what is probably the world's biggest news conference.  The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers will be taking questions from the insightful to the inane.

No question is off the table -- before Super Bowl XXXIV, someone once asked Kurt Warner for a lock of his hair.  Before Super Bowl XLII, a woman working for a Latin American network showed up in a wedding dress and proposed to Tom Brady.  That's what happens when you get 5,000 credentialed media -- not all of them serious journalists.

The NFL recently realized that this is another way to get ordinary fans closer to the action -- now they sell tickets to Media Day.

"It's just a really strong and powerful way to bring the fans that close to the action and a lot of them probably won't be able to go to the game," said New Orleans Saints co-owner Rita Benson LeBlanc.  "It's the festivities of it. The sponsors come down but there are tons of people who don't have a game ticket that we want to enjoy the experience."
