Workers find new routes in to CBD

The morning commute into New Orleans' Central Business District starting Monday could be a little dicey.  It's the first weekday since authorities closed another exit off the I-10 coming in from the west.

To accommodate the Super Bowl set-up this week, Poydras Street headed from Claiborne Avenue towards the river is closed.  That also includes the Poydras exit from the I-10 coming in from Metairie, and local officials have fingers crossed that it won't get too crazy.

"Our citizens that are used to coming going toward the river, on Poydras: you can't do that," cautioned Lt. Col. Jerry Sneed, New Orleans Deputy Mayor for Homeland Security.

Sneed says drivers need to allow extra time and explore alternate routes, because the Poydras exit and river-bound Poydras by the Superdome is going to be like that until after Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday.
