Williams has had talks with the Tennessee Titans and could become the team's assistant head coach, ESPN reported, citing league sources.
CBSSports.com says Williams has agreed to become assistant head coach-defense with the Titans.
The move would require Williams' reinstatement to the league from his Bountygate suspension. Williams and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell are expected to meet early next week.
Titans coach Mike Munchak and Williams reportedly began discussing the possibility recently after the NFL allowed Williams to pursue NFL jobs despite his suspension. Goodell said he would consider a reinstatement for Williams if he found a team willing to hire him.
If Williams is hired, indications are defensive coordinator Jerry Gray would remain in his role with the team. Williams and Gray have worked together previously with the Titans, Redskins and Bills.
