New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne joined in the celebration. Mayor Landrieu appeared excited as he talked with WWL first news.
''This is unbelievable, I mean it really is a spectacular new piece of the construction already added to a fabulous convention center, I'm really, really proud," the mayor said.
Listen to Mayor Mitch Landrieu:
Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne was equally impressed with the expansion of the convention center and the new NFL shop.
"This really becomes a gateway to the convention center which means the future is bright and there's so much excitement in the city because of the Super Bowl
and the recognition that Louisiana is getting across the country," said Dardenne.
Inside the new Great Hall, the NFL shop is now open to the public and the NFL experience will open next Wednesday and will be free admission to the public.
