"A 10 month old girl from the Slidell area tragically died... when she crawled from her residence and was run over in the driveway by a vehicle driven by her own father," St. Tammany Sheriff's Capt. George Bonnett said in a news release. "Sheriff's deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the 300 block of Lenwood Drive in Slidell after receiving a 911 call.
He says the baby was severely injured.
"The baby was immediately transported to Ochsner Medical Center - Northshore, where she was later pronounced dead."
Bonnett does not expect anyone to face charges.
"Alcohol is not believed to have been a contributing factor and no arrests are expected to be made in this case."
