The New Orleans Saints announced today that defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and secondary coach Ken Flajole "have been relieved of their duties with the team."
“I personally want to thank Steve and Ken for their contributions during what was an unprecedented 2012 season,” said Saints Head Coach Sean Payton. “Philosophically we are changing our defense to a 3-4 alignment and right now is the best time to accomplish this transition.”
The Saints' 2012 defense will be forever known as one of the worst in NFL history, allowing opposing offenses to rack up more than 7,000 yards, the worst in league history.
