Reporters from around the globe are starting to arrive in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.  Organizers see it as a great opportunity to set the record straight about what the status of the Crescent City.

Super Bowl Host Committed Co-Chair Mary Matalin says when she travels, she finds that people still think New Orleans and Louisiana are flooded and corrupt.  She says people think that "half the state is under water and the other half is under indictment."

She says it happens over and over.

"They always ask, 'Are you still under water?'"  Matalin explained.  "They have freeze framed us from the shots that are unfortunately iconic... they really  have pigeonholed us into a time and place."

Matalin hopes all of the international attention to New Orleans surrounding the big game will change that.

"The upside of their thinking that we're still under water is that they should be blown away," Matalin insisted.  "What I want them to see is not just how much we have come back, but how much we have pushed ahead of where the rest of the rest of country is in terms of livability, visibility, commerce, entrepreneurship and now technical." 

So, the world should see the city is no longer "under water."  As for the "under indictment" perception, well last week's indictment of former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin on corruption charges won't help with that.
