Five people shot on MLK Blvd. soon after MLK Jr. day march passed

New Orleans Police are investigating the shootings of five teenagers.  It happened early Monday afternoon at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and LaSalle Street.

According to police, a white car passed by a storefront around 1:00 p.m. and an occupant fired from the sunroof, striking the five victims.  The vehicle sped away.

Authorities say the victims' injuries aren't considered life-threatening.

The city's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day march from City Hall to MLK Boulevard and South Claiborne Avenue had just passed by the crime scene less then a half-hour before the shooting.
