Flood potential for New Orleans area today



A line of strong storms is moving toward the New Orleans metro area.  It could cause street flooding, high winds and even tornadoes.

The bulk of the rain is west of a line stretching from the Houma - Thibodaux area up through the River Parishes and into Tangipahoa Parish.

All of Southeast Louisiana is under a tornado watch until 2:00pm.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Lafourche and Terrebonne until 10:30 am and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Tangipahoa, LA until 10:25 am and a Severe Thunderstorm  Warning for Jefferson, Lafourche, and Plaquemines parishes until 11:40am.
