NOPD homicide detectives say they are investigating the fatal shooting of an unidentified male after the discovery of the victim's body.

Police say the body was found early this afternoon in the rear yard of an abandoned residence in the 1600 block of North Rocheblave Street.

Investigators say the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The address where the body was found is near McDonough 42 Elementary School.

WWL-TV reports that police say the victim is believed to be a teenager.

A police statement says the victim was shot multiple times and that "narcotics were found on the scene."
