The BCS National Championship Game is tonight, and it features two legendary college football programs: the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Catch all the action live on tonight on WWL 870AM and WWL FM 105.3 at 7:30pm.

Just who is an LSU fan to root for? 

The folks we talked to in the CBD mostly are rooting for Alabama because, as this man says, "I want to see it (the championship) stay in the SEC."  Some fans have given it a lot of thought.  "I want Alabama to win 42-0 and then (Alabama Coach Nick) Saban to go to the Cleveland Browns."  Why?  "It's better for LSU long term!"

Some Ohio fans in town are split, with some rooting for Notre Dame but others rooting for Alabama because Saban is a Kent State alum.

Another LSU fan, who's also an SEC fan, says even though he hates Alabama it's possible he hates Notre Dame more.

So is Notre Dame is as good as their ranking, or will they be exposed once they take on a SEC powerhouse like Alabama?  A fan notes Notre Dame did have a weak schedule, with another saying, "It's like the Yankees.  Every year Notre Dame is going to be feared and respected because of the name.  But any given Sunday, anybody can win."
