Entertainment Weekly reports the long-rumored reality TV series about convicted former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards will debut next month on cable network A&E.
Called The Governor's Wife, the series will focus more on Edwards 34-year-old wife Trina and how she deals with being married to the 85-year-old ex-con and former four-term governor and having two stepdaughters almost twice her age. EW quotes an "official description" of the show:
"The series follows Trina as she attempts to fit into the former governor’s upscale world and busy social life while trying to get along with daughters twice her age and corral her teenage sons. Between school projects, running for president of the Homeowner’s Association, fending off skeptics who think she’s a gold digger, and thoughts of adding a baby of their own to the mix, the Edwards clan truly represent a new take on the modern family."
A&E is no doubt looking to replicate the success of other Louisiana-based shows in the reality genre including the popular Duck Dynasty.
The entertainment magazine reports A&E has set February 27 as the debut date for the show.
