The victim was discovered just after 9:00 a.m. Sunday, in the 3200 block of Pleasure Street in the 9th Ward.
"The victim was found in the driver's seat of a Blue Chevy Malibu by a citizen in the area," Officer Frank Robertson said in a release from the NOPD.
He'd been shot once and died on the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
