Cold and windy weather

Much colder air is blowing into Southeast Louisiana.

"It's feeling really chilly out there when you factor in the wind," explained Channel 4 Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford.

Morning temps got down into upper 30's and low 40's this morning.  Winds gusting between 20 and 40 miles per hour had it feeling like 30's.  The wind chill was down to 28 in Houma and 32 in Slidell, for example.

Cranford says don't expect much of a warm up today. "It's gonna feel really cold out there."

She says we drop even further when the sun goes down today.

"Really cold air tonight, you can expect probably a light freeze in many locations on the Northshore and patchy frost in spots on the Southshore as well."

She is forecasting lows in the upper 20's in spots by Thursday morning north of the lake and 30's for the entire region.
