We could see severe weather in Southeast Louisiana on Christmas Day as a cold front moves our way.
Most of Southeast Louisiana is under a tornado watch through 1:00 p.m., with the exception of coastal parishes south of New Orleans.
WWL-TV meteorologist Derek Kevra says rain is a certainty for Tuesday, along with the chance of dangerous thunderstorms on Christmas.
"It looks like things are going to be a bit hairy on Christmas Day," Kevra says. "Starting early Tuesday have the potential for some strong and severe weather... that means strong wind, hail, heavy rain and the possibility of an isolated tornado."
After the rain and storms on Tuesday, Kevra says temperatures will plummet Tuesday night, with lows near 40 on both sides of the lake overnight into Wednesday.
