According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, a 9-1-1 call was placed just before 2 o'clock Sunday morning reporting the shooting, which occurred at Gloria's Bayou Lounge, 36316 Salmen St., in Slidell.
Police say the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot when the suspect shot the victim and fled in a blue, 4-door sedan.
Patrons and employees of Gloria's attempted to perform CPR on the victim, a 43 year old black male.
He was taken by ambulance to Slidell Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 9-1-1. Anonymous tips may be given to Crimestoppers at 877-903-STOP.
