Teens need chaperones for entrance to Oaks

Celebration in the Oaks will not be a place to hang out for unsupervised teenagers anymore.  Starting tonight a new policy takes effect banning anyone 17 years of age and under from gaining entrance without someone at least 21 years of age with them.

City Park Director of Development John Hopper said they love teens but ''sometimes a few bad apples can spoil or the whole bunch and that's what's happened here.''

Listen to interview with City Park's John Hopper:

Hopper said it was action they wish they could have avoided but they felt action had to be taken and they also beefed up security, in part to check identification.

''here is going to be some confusion, so we have an adequate police force inside and out,''  said Hopper.

Hopper said Celebration in the Oaks has been a great family event for 25 years and they want to keep it that way.
