ATL Airport officials to probe Saints egging

Officials in Atlanta are promising an investigation of the egg-throwing incident involving the New Orleans Saints' team bus.  Authorities also promise police presence when the Saints leave Atlanta.

The airport manager calls the incident "unacceptable" and said it "will not be tolerated."

The Atlanta airport released this statement:

"It has been confirmed that eggs were thrown at the New Orleans Saints' charter bus as they departed the ramp at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport last night. Airline workers were in the ramp area. Airport and airline officials are investigating the incident and further information will be forthcoming. Meanwhile, Atlanta Police will augment the airline security presence during the team's departure. Aviation General Manager Louis Miller emphasized that this behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

Saints players began sending messages via Twitter about the incident as the eggs were hitting the bus.  The players said it was airport workers lobbing the eggs. Click here for more on that...

A source with the New Orleans Saints tells WWL's Kristian Garic that the team was in a secure area of the Airport in Atlanta when the bus was pelted with eggs.  The incident has raised questions about airport security and how workers were able to get the eggs through security.
