What's the future for the U.S. Attorney's office in New Orleans?  One federal judge has expressed his doubts about the current make-up of the office in the growing scandal involving prosecutors using the Internet to anonymously vent their opinions on active cases.  With the Obama administration beginning a second term in office, could that shake things up?

A new term in office means a new round of presidential nominations, so could the White House be considering changes here in New Orleans?  Gambit political editor Clancy DuBos says the rule of senatorial privilege still applies.

"Whatever party's in power, in this case the Democrats, they look to the senior senator from that party for nominations," DuBos said.

That means the Obama administration will seek the advice of Mary Landrieu.

"Whether it's Jim Letten or somebody else, whoever holds that job is going to have to get Mary Landrieu's blessing," said DuBos.

Landrieu has said she's troubled by the allegations here in New Orleans, but DuBos says at this point, anything is possible.
